Karlene Froling, Jamaican Children’s Author (living overseas)  donated  thirteen (13) books representing 7 children titles of her work to the Jamaica Library Service  (JLS) Region 4 60 for 60 initiative in highlight of Jamaica 60th anniversary celebration . A photo -op was done  at the Jamaica Library Service Headquarters to mark this donation.

Karlene was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but grew up in Newlands District in the parish of St. Catherine.  She worked at Barita Investments in New Kingston for twelve years and later migrated to the United States in 2003 where she has lived since.After taking control of her mind to manage fear, insecurity and anxiety by practicing healthy habits and using positive messages, Karlene began penning children’s books.  Most of her healthy behaviors, magical words and optimistic messages find their way into her stories.Karlene enjoys watching SciFi movies and comedies with her family, attending neighborhood events, or playing board and card games with her two sons and daughter.

DeAndre Davidson enjoys the book Pete the Shark so much. While he sits and reads further, he highlighs: ‘The next day, Pete the Shark greets the kid wearing a red lipstick. When he makes his appearance, the kid gasp- and ran off as usual. Accordingly to DeAndre, Pete looks ridiculous!
