This programme facilitates parents reading aloud with children aged 0-5 years. Reading aloud to babies and toddlers is an activity that not only benefits the relationship between parents and children but also contributes positively to the child’s mental and social development.

The objective of the programme is to develop a reading culture where parents read aloud with children from an early age. Activities are coordinated to enhance the relationship between parents and toddlers. The Jamaica Library Service offers a variety of books and other resources for babies and toddlers and provides the optimal environment for parents to enjoy the fulfilling sessions of reading, using interactive games and other stimulating literary activities with their children.
